Bridesmaids dresses:
Take a day where you and your bridesmaids can visit all the bridal shops and check out all the potential dress ideas. Make it a girl’s day, include a fun lunch and just spend the day having a good time. Have the bridesmaids try on a variety of bridesmaid dresses and take plenty of notes on what you like about the dresses and what you don’t like.
Invitations:
Before ordering invitations, consider which of the following related stationery items you might also need (you might be able to save on the cost of purchasing these items separately):
* Save the Date Cards
* Reply Cards and Envelopes
* Other Enclosures (Directions/Maps, Accommodation Info., etc.)
* Marriage Announcements
* Ceremony Programs
* Place Cards for the Reception
* Printed Cocktail Napkins or Number Cards for Reception Tables
* Gift Bag or Wedding Favor Tags
* Note Cards
* Thank You Cards
* Address Change Announcements
When you have a completed invitation set (with reply card, envelope and any other enclosures) take one to your local post office to determine the necessary amount of postage.
A Great Little Money-Saving Trick on the Cake:
You can actually have your bakery or cake designer create one or more "fake" tiers for the cake, which are simply styrofoam-covered platforms with the same outer layer as the rest of the cake, made to look exactly the same as the real tier. For the cake-cutting ceremony, you'll still cut into the real tier of cake, of course, but your guests won't know the difference when the sliced cake is brought out from the kitchen - slices that came from a much less expensive sheet cake!
For the Parents:
By having made the plans, and helping pay for it, you need to let go and "just enjoy" the rehearsal and the day of the wedding
